Mathematics is Everywhere was part of PIMS' contribution to the World Mathematical Year 2000 sponsored by UNESCO and the IMU. It constitutes one of the many activities in PIMS' continuing Mathematics Awareness Campaign. As a poster campaign for public transport systems, it was meant to attract public attention to the importance of Mathematics in modern society. For a year, it appeared on selected bus routes in Vancouver and Victoria. The posters also appeared elsewhere in schools, exhibitions, calendars, etc.
A new poster came out at the start of every month and offered a modest prize of $100 to a lucky winner randomly chosen from the bin of correct responses.
In the following list, you can enlarge the small poster images by clicking on them The link in the caption below each one will lead you to web-page with a short explanation of the question asked on the poster, with some hints for an answer.
