Slim Ibrahim

Slim Ibrahim has been a Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria since 2018. He works on the Analysis of Partial Differential Equations arising from physical, engineering or biological models. Besides the fundamental questions of existence, uniqueness and singularity formation, more quantitative analysis on the long time behaviour or stability of phenomena are investigated. Examples includes fluid models like the Navier-Stokes, Euler equations as well as the Primitive equations for geophysical flows. The Klein-Gordon, Schroedinger equations, model in quantum mechanics, and the classical restricted N-body problems from classical mechanics are at the heart of Slim’s research.
