Abstract
We will survey results on, and techniques for, the generalized Fermat equation x^p + y^q = z^r, where p, q, and r satisfy 1/p + 1/q + 1/r < 1. This is joint work with Imin Chen, Sander Dahmen, and Soroosh Yazdani.
