Luncheon for Women Graduate Students in Statistics and Mathematics

Women are the minority in the Mathematics and Statistics Graduate programs at UBC and beyond. Forming a network of female colleagues is an important part of professional development.  An informal luncheon is coming up to develop that network here at UBC. The main goals of this event are:

• celebrate women graduate students in Stats and Math;
• make valuable cross-department connections;
• discuss the challenges of being a woman in Science;
• promote women in Science;
• hear and get advice from Nancy Heckman and Rachel Kuske , two successful women in Science.
