Anthony Quas, University of Victoria
Dr. Quas is a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria, where he holds a Canada Research Chair. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Warwick (UK) and his recent academic distinctions include being editor of the journal Dynamical Systems and an organizer of the MSRI program on Additive Combinatorics and Ergodic Theory. He is also the managing editor of PIMS’ Pi in Sky magazine.
His research expertise covers a range of topics in ergodic theory and dynamical systems. In particular, his work has included work on symbolic dynamics and the ergodic theory of differentiable dynamical systems and their connections with stochastic processes.
