UBC Harmonic Analysis and Fractal Geometry: Shengwen Gan

In this talk, I will discuss a conjecture made by Fässler and Orponen on the restricted projections in R^3. In the first part, I will introduce some background on the projection problems and its relation with Furstenberg set problem and Szemerédi -Trotter theorem. In the second part, I will introduce the decoupling and high-low method, and give a proof of the conjecture.
