2024 West Coast Optimization Meeting
Details
The autumn 2024 edition of the West Coast Optimization Meeting will be held on 20–21 September, 2024 on the Vancouver Campus of the University of British Columbia.
The organizers (Michael Friedlander, Mark Schmidt, and Philip Loewen) are pleased to invite all interested participants. Please note that registration is required.
The WCOM has been held once or twice yearly since at least 1992 (the first two meetings were called the West Coast Optimization Seminar). Here is an incomplete list of past meetings.
Registration
Registration is free, easy, and required. Just send an email to Philip Loewen (loew@math.ubc.ca) giving your name, affiliation, and home page url, stating whether you plan to attend the social event.
Timetable
Friday, September 20, 2024: Social dinner, room ICICS X836, starting at 18:30.
Saturday, September 21, 2024: Technical presentations in room DMP 110. Come at 08:30 for coffee and pastry; talks start at 9:00.
Additional Information
The social event on Friday evening is in the ICICS/CS building, Room X836. The closest exterior door is across Engineering Road from the Dempster Pavilion.
Bonus: Interview with RTR
On the evening of the social dinner, Terry Rockafellar has agreed to share some of his thoughts, as prompted by interview questions from Michael Friedlander. This will start when it feels like the time is right, probably around 20:00, in the same room as the dinner.
