PIMS Network Wide Courses 2025/2026

The PIMS Network Wide Courses program for the 2025/2026 academic year begins this fall with the following six courses
- Optimal Transport: Theory and Applications - Soumik Pal (UW), Young-Heon Kim (UBC)
- Discrete Optimization - Jonathan Noel (UVic)
- Elliptic Curves and Modular Forms - Chuck Doran (UAlberta)
- Modern Biophysics - Steven Plotkin (UBC)
- Topics in Optimization: Mathematical Foundations of Machine Learning - Andrew Warren (UBC)
- Mathematical Biology - Nonlinear PDE Models - Rebecca Tyson (UBC-Okanagan)
Registration is now open, see the PIMS Courses website for registration details. Registration deadlines under the Western Deans Agreement vary by university, but may be as early as July 23rd in some cases. Students are encouraged to contact the course instructors early if they think they might like to register.
Additionally, the following three courses will take place in the Winter term,
- Advanced studies in Theoretical and Computational Biology - Anotida Madzvamuse (UBC)
- Applied Stochastic Analysis - Miranda Holmes-Cerfon (UBC)
- Algebraic Topology I - Ben Williams (UBC)
