Power System Planning and Operation Under Uncertainty
Speakers
Details
Electrical Energy Systems are on the edge of a significant revolution in their operation and planning. Great interest is being directed towards increased integration of renewable or "clean" energy sources such as wind- and solar-based generation, and they are expected to be a substantial component of future electrical power systems.
This presentation will first provide an introduction to some general issues related to power system planning and operation. The presentation will then present some recent work related to the application of Chance-Constrained Optimization to power system planning when incorporating wind-based generation. The presentation will also present the results of some studies related to integration of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV).
