SFU Math Camp for Teachers
Details
For the first time this year, we will be offering a Math Camp for Teachers, June 27 - 30, 2011, at the SFU Burnaby Campus.
The Camp is designed for teachers who teach mathematics in middle and high school. This year's theme is "Teaching Through Problem Solving". The activities will explore problems and activities that connect to school curriculum, how to incorporate them into your teaching, and how to assess students' problem solving.
Workshops and discussions will provide the opportunity to share your experiences and questions with the colleagues, and to observe students engaging in problem solving activities at our camp for students, which will be held at the same time.
Additional Information
The camp registration fee is $50. Lunch and refreshments are included.
To register, fill in the Application Form provided and fax it or mail to the Math Department by May 31st, 2011. Mail the original and the cheque (payable to Simon Fraser University, with "Math Camp for Teachers" on the message line).
For participants from outside the Lower Mainland, there is a possibility of accommodation on campus (http://www.sfu.ca/conference-accommodation/accommodations/index.html).
