Dr. Natalia Nolde to Receive the 2021 UBC/PIMS Mathematical Sciences Young Faculty Award
The Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Natalia Nolde, is the recipient of the 2021 UBC - PIMS Mathematical Sciences Young Faculty Award. Dr. Nolde is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of British Columbia. She obtained her PhD in Mathematics at ETH Zurich in 2010. Her research interests include probabilistic and statistical aspects of multivariate extreme value modelling including application to risk management in finance, insurance, hydrology and geoscience.
PIMS UBC Site Director, Prof Brian Marcus made the announcement early in January. As the recipient of this award, Dr. Nolde will receive $1,000 and will give a UBC - PIMS Mathematical Sciences Young Faculty Award Colloquium in May 2022.

This prize was created by two founding donors, Anton Kuipers and Darrell Duffie, to recognize UBC researchers for their leading-edge work in mathematics or its applications in the sciences.
