The Workshop on Representation Theory of Groups, Lie Algebras, and Hopf Algebras
Topic
This is a satellite event to the 2012 Summer Meeting of the Canadian Mathematical Society that will take place from June 2 to 4, and it will continue into that meeting as a Special Session on the same topic.
Speakers
Details
The Workshop on Representation Theory will feature 6-8 one-hour survey lectures by top scholars in the field directed at early-career researchers, graduate students, and senior undergraduates. At the Workshop, our plan is to have three or four of the top people in the each of the three areas (groups, Lie algebras, and Hopf algebras) give a series of two or three talks, giving an overview of each subject that brings people to the cutting edge in the field and puts people in a good position to appreciate the talks at the CMS Meeting. The Special Session to follow will feature 24 half-hour talks by leading researchers in the field.
