The Data Science Bootcamp is primarily intended for graduate-level students with a research interest in data science, although the Bootcamp will also appeal to senior undergraduate students who have an interest in pursuing academic studies in this area. The Bootcamp will also accept a limited number of non-students who are working in organizations or business with a focus on data science and related topics.
All Bootcamp participants are expected to be familiar with basic concepts of linear algebra, calculus, probability and hypothesis testing. Participants are also expected to have some experience with computer programming and statistical software packages, particularly R.
Registration:
Student Registration:
There is a $50 CAD registration fee for students. Some financial support is available to outstanding students on a competitive base in the form of paid accommodation, exempt registration fee, and possibly partial travel support. Applicants must demonstrate their need for financial support.
Non-Student Registration:
There is a $500 CAD registration fee for non-students. No financial support is available for non-students.
Registration is a two-step process:
- Step 1: Step 1 of the registration process is now closed.
- Step 2: If accepted, applicants will receive a confirmation email with information about registration and paying the registration fee on this page. (You will need to create a PIMS Profile and return to the page to signup for the event). Please do not register unless you have a received confirmation from the organizers.
