NCTS-PIMS workshop in PDE
Details
This is a joint workshop between NCTS and PIMS, aimed at promoting research collaboration and fostering exchanges between Taiwan and Canada. We hope to continue this positive trend through this workshop and further enhance our collaboration. The subject of this workshop focuses on PDE. More specifically, following topics will be emphasized in this workshop:
- geometry and analysis of dispersive equations
- regularity for solutions of certain fundamental equations
- hyperbolic problems in traffic flow, kinetic theory and the material sciences
- modern approaches to asymptotic analysis in the calculus of variations
- universal inequalities in relevant function spaces
- elliptic and parabolic equations

HQP participation
We cordially invite graduate students and postdocs in the PIMS affiliated universities to apply to participate in the workshop.
- Participating HQP will receive travel support from PIMS up to CAD$1800 per person, and local support (guestroom in student dormitory) from NCTS. We hope to support up to 9 HQPs from PIMS affiliated universities.
- Participating HQP will give a short talk of 25-30 minutes to the workshop, and is expected to attend the entire workshop. It can be a survey talk for junior HQP.
- An interested HQP should fill the HQP Form, and also ask their supervisor/mentor to fill in the Supervisor Form with a short explanation on the suitability of the HQP for the workshop. We will start to review the applications on March 16th and inform the applicants on March 25th.
