New Site Director at the University of Manitoba

PIMS is pleased to welcome Professor Stephanie Portet, as the new Site Director representing the University of Manitoba. She begins her three-year term on July 1, 2021. Professor Portet's research is focused on cytoskeletal networks, an area in cellular biology that involves multi-disciplinary approaches from domains such as biophysics and mathematical biology.

PIMS is grateful to Prof. Kirill Koputun, who has worked diligently in representing the University of Manitoba since it joined the institute in 2015. Prof Koputun has been an invaluable resource for PIMS over the past years and has worked with the executive team in the development of a number of processes at the institute. Prof. Portet’s appointment is a natural continuation of this work. PIMS looks forward to her new leadership and research expertise.
